How I price cakes

I work with each client to design a personalized and delicious custom cake that coordinates with their event. The price of a cake is based on several factors such as size / servings, complexity of design, and ingredient selection. Some cakes only take a couple days of preparation, while intricate designs including fondant or gumpaste figures and flowers require several days to create, giving the icings time to set up and dry completely, before the oven is ever turned on. Some additions, such as nuts or chocolate covered strawberries, can greatly impact the cost of a cake; however, it is typically the labor involved, and not the ingredients, that account for the greatest portion of the cost in a custom cake.
